To create a unique environment in such a space as FreeRange, I created my stand so that, to view the work, patrons have to step into the exhibit and then look around to see everything. Paper work will be above them, whilst the models will be all around and at different heights. This unusual layout will hopefully entice more people in to the exhibit. Each segment of the stand is identical, allowing them to slot together seamlessly. It also means that each part is multi-functional as the presentation boxes and storage doors will fit into any of the segments. This means that the stand can be added to, or reduced, to accommodate more or less students presentations. Each segment is also wide enough to become a stool if left as a single segment at ground level. Each roof panel has an acrylic face which allows students work to be presented. LED strips behind the work allows it to be clearly seen. The presentation boxes are manufactured from clear acrylic, and held together by a frame of aluminium piping. This allows the students to open the boxes and present their models by unscrewing the top panel. As such, each model is secured safely inside the protective box.
