Pailton Engineering in Coventry approached us through Coventry University to design a new reception for their Coventry offices. We were placed into groups, and my group was one of the final two proposals.

This design was based around the engineering history of the company, with careful thought being put in to each part of the room. The ceiling is based on the company's use of metal piping, with lights matching the company's rebranded logo. It also gives the illusion of a larger space. The metal wall is covered with holes equal to the number of miles between each of the company's offices, whilst also doubling as a display case. The stone floor is a reference to the industrial history of the company, whilst the desk uses a dark wood base to soften the rooms appearance. In terms of decoration the wall panel pattern is a reference to the processes that the company goes through to make a product, whilst the clocks on the wall show the time in each of the office's around the world.
