A reaction to the rapid increase in the UK gaming industry, this project aims to bring the stimulation from video games into office space. This would change the potentially bland experience of working in an office environment, giving the space an identity. Through in depth research, it was decided that the offices would become the headquarters of one of the world's biggest games publishers, Electronic Arts. With the area and the building having a history of game design, it made sense for such a big company to adopt the building as its UK headquarters.

There are two main concepts that I have attempted to bring into the interior space of Marlborough House. The first of these is to bring the stimulation from video games into the office space. Whether that be the mayhem of first person shooters such as Battlefield, the street styling of Need for Speed, the fantasy design of Dragon Age, Titanfall’s futuristic sci-fi art style or the cartoon design of The Sim’s, bringing the stimulation and excitement from EA’s video games into its new flagship office is a key element which will make Marlborough House a fun and comfortable place to work. The second concept is to increase worker interaction. With technology advancing at a rapid fire rate, and near instant global connectivity at our finger tips, current and future young generations are slowly losing the ability to hold conversations. With that in mind, increasing worker interaction on each floor is something that is a key focus for the interior space of the building, whilst still maintaining the usefulness of technology, such as emails, digital presentations and video conferences.
